trade effluent solutions

There are many advantages in improving treatment of your trade effluent discharge. This may include tighter limits imposed by the water company in response to pressure at the receiving works, a need to address rising tariffs and their effect on operating profit or even as a driver to increase output or yield in your production lines. Tackling trade effluent can be a complex matter for water engineers given that no two effluent discharges are alike.

Our wastewater solutions target the parameters that will result in the greatest reduction in your bills for the lowest capital outlay. We may also be able to provide financed solutions that reduce your bills from the outset without any investment in capital equipment. We can offer treatment equipment on on a hire/trial basis or over a an agreed contract period where your tariff reduction covers the cost of the service we provide.

Trade Effluent Case Studies

Customer specific solutions

Scrutiny of water company environmental performance is more intense than ever and this translates into growing pressure on their industrial clients to meet stricter trade effluent standards is intensifying,

Breaching consent conditions can result in fines, prosecution or the site being forced to tanker away effluent at exceptionally high cost.

Talk to our qualified chemical engineers who understand separation processes, reaction engineering and all matters that are related to effluent treatment and ensure the correct technology is selected to get your production back in compliance and saving you on your tariffs.

Trialing the equipment in real time

Purestream Industries find that operational trials are the most effective way of confirming the design process criteria, chemical requirements and plant optimisation for scale up. Our trials do not interfere with your operations, and allow you to present an investment case for finance and ensure the correct process is designed and installed. In the case that your site is under pressure to meet discharge standards, we can extend the trial under a hire agreement to keep you compliant until the next step.

Our technical experts have an in-depth knowledge of industrial effluent treatment, giving customers peace of mind that the applied processes will be environmentally compliant.

Our Approach

  1. Sustainable Technology - low-energy, water efficient solutions  ensure the designed  solutions have a low environmental impact, helping our client  to achieve their carbon reduction goals.
  2. Partners - Our engineering professionals have been around the water projects for their whole careers which has helped to build trust and respect with those we work with. We have designed and installed wastewater treatment solutions for many global sites with a diverse range of challenges, which mean we under our clients requirement to strive to achieve high environmental standards.
  3. Data analysis – After initial contact by our clients, we offer to complete a site visit in order to complete a comprehensive assessment of your site’s needs and its performance.  This process also highlights the site-specific constraints which feeds into the customization of the solution to be provided.
  4. Designs for differing client challenges -  Although our modular hire equipment has been designed with rapid installation and start-up in mind, no two sites are the same, so the equipment allows for a level of customization based on specific site requirements. This modular transportable approach provides flexibility, quickly and easily allowing for the addition or removal of equipment in order to find the best solution for our clients sites.  We have a wide range of equipment at our availability which we can train your operatives on if requested.
  5. Purestream Industries, along with it subcontract arrangements has the in-house skills and expertise in place to deliver from a single point of hire equipment to full turnkey industrial water solutions. Whatever the challenge, we will work with you to find the right solution.
  6. Sampling Regime – We offer a sampling regime of the influent and effluent to ensure the correct technology and treatment processes are in place to maintain compliance.  The sampling regime covers as a minimum  Fat, Oil and Grease (FOG) levels, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and suspended solids (SS).
  7. Chemical dosing optimisation  - We offer to trial a range of chemicals in order to optimise the treatment processes  and ensure  the plant is meeting regulatory and environmental requirements.
